Good morning,
I'm currently working on another interesting model. You are welcome to guess what it should be. That's why I'm willing to write a construction report again.
The model will be completely 3D printed like my others. And it will be a halftrack again. The other HT's are designed so far. (Sd.Kfz 250, Sd.Kfz 251, SWS, the Famo is still waiting)
The first thing I did was print the runninggear to see if it could be done at all. As always, proceed as normal in FDM.
It was printed from PETG, as this is the only one still available. Unfortunately, the printing parameters don't quite match yet.
But I'll show you the first attempt

Yes the Driver sits next to the barrel. This vehicles is a right steering one.
All in all, you need good ear plugs when it firing.... And some pills against headache.

Hello, there's a little more to progress. I looked into the feasibility of the frame, the front axle and the gearbox.
And what can I say, the front axle is based on the WPL principle and the transmission is again built with durable bevel gears.
I'm currently printing the right running gear. 16mm motors are used as drives. But you can also build in 20mm motors.
As a size comparison, let's take a look at my printed SD.kfz 251/9.
The front wheels are only on for testing. These come from the SD.kfz 232 and are still being replaced
