A short introduction: born in New Zealand and at the age of 10 travelled with my dutch parents to Netherlands. My first rc was the well known Sand Schorcher and not long after, during my short time in the army, I was able to buy the first rc-tank Tamiya made, the Sherman. Sold both a few years later and about 33 years ago I bought a 2'nd hand Leopard 1. Also sold that one and approx. 7 years ago I came across a Gepard and Leo 1, another Gepard, 2 more Leo 1's, 1 original and 1 new sherman, and a new Panther. Did nothing with them until know as I have stopped working ( at 65 ) and have more than enough time. First up is the Gepard for which I am using the forum for info. Onze I have something worth showing I will post pictures. To be continued

Hi there,

Welcome to the forum Rikiwi. Was that original Sherman a one motor twin clutch/brake affair! My brother gave me one from an early Tamiya Tiger. Haven't found a use for it but I will (possibly a half track). So by my count you have 7 ready for the work bench, it's clear we don't need to warn you of the pitfall this hobby can become. Look forward to your builds, and again welcome aboard.

Hi. 1st Sherman was and is a 2 motor with both motors through the same clutch. Metal gears are supplied to make it a 1 motor per track. Did this with my first one and will do it to one of my current stock. Let the games begin and time flies when you're having fun:-)
