The back wheel is it a Phillips head or and Allen screw?

I don't want to strip it since I can't see it.

Should I remove the track itself?

Sorry photo quality....this kind of cover, pass a thin blade between this part and the wheel, see if it can be dismantled? Have you looked from the back if between the wheel and the side of the tank, not a hidden screw? what is the track tensioner?

Your picture is of a Taigen sprocket not a heng long the heng long has a hole in the centre with no cover the Taigen has a cover over the screw

The trick to the H/L idler is the balance of your phillips head screw driver tip size to its ability to fit through the hole in the hub to access it.
Once you find a driver to fit the hole, make sure you keep high pressure on it after its engaged in the screw.
if not, you risk tearing the cross out of the screw head and forcing you to dismantle the idler .
