Good evening
My HL king tiger arrived today.
The tank recoils when I fire the main gun but the barrel is fixed. I am looking to add a recoiling barrel. Am I right in thinking that that the barrel and mantlet are moulded as one piece? If I’m right I would need a separate barrel and mantlet to allow the barrel to slide in and out. Question is where can I get the parts that i need?
Thanks for looking

Good Afternoon!
Be a Pal and rollover to the new Members section and tell us a little about yourself and your RC tank(s). There is an easy fix for making your main gun barrel a recoiling one. Will take a few extra bucks and figures in with which electronics board you got from Heng Long.
regards and welcome to the Forum,

Hi Painless wolf
Thanks for getting back to me. I’ve been a member of this forum for quite a few years but took a break for a couple of years. I’ve managed to use my existing account with some help from son of a gunner. I’ve just got the one tank at the moment which is a hl king tiger with a tk7 board. I’m planning to swap to better electrics so that I can add more features. I think that I’ve found what I need from forgebear but if you have a suggestion for re-using the existing barrel I’d be interested to hear about it. The one at forgebear is the h/l snap type recoil but once I swap the electrics I am planning on fitting a Servo recoil
Many thanks
Glyn

Hi Percy 1510. Welcome back to the family. The HL, as you call it, snap barrel can be adapted to servo. To use reuse the existing barrel involves sawing, filling, and drilling. Essentially, you cut the barrel where it enters the mantle, extend the barrel, and then drill and file out the mantle.

Thanks meter rat
Think I will order the snap recoil from forgebear to give me the separate barrel and mantle then use your method to make into servo recoil. Thanks for your help

Good Afternoon!
Welcome back to the Forum ( I slouch corrected ;0) Meter Rat laid out the 'Use your Own Barrel' method really well! I was going to suggest the HL recoil barrel to match your new electronics but you beat me to it. Looking forward to seeing how it works out in the tank.
regards,
Painless
