Good evening all
As someone returning to the hobby after a couple of years I was wondering which electronics boards people are using. I used to put ibu2 boards in my tanks but it looks like they are now out of production. What do you guy’s recommend?
I was speaking to Andrew from Haya who recommended the Clark tk50 board which looks good but I’m not sure about programming using a tv remote.
I’d like a board that can give me functions like servo support for barrel recoil etc. good sounds are a must and battle compatable. I’m loving the smoking barrel upgrades I’ve seen on the internet so a board that would support that would be great
Would love to hear your suggestions
Glyn

I know many here are liking the HL 7.0 and 7.1 versions. The 7.1 supports servos but I think there are only a couple sound options. You might get some good info here: viewforum.php?f=31

I only use Elmod, they are expensive, but worth it to me. They have support for one servo on the main board and you can buy and expansion board that lets you add three servos, and additional machine gun light and sound, and various lights.
The base card Elmod Fusion X connects to an 8 port PWM receiver. Among other things, it lets you store and play up to 24 .wav files, simulates tank acceleration and jerking with the shifting of gears, allows you to modify things like tank speed, traverse speed, braking power, smoke output, barrel recoil speed (with a servo installed to control recoil), they have a tank specific sound set for almost every tank out there (sometimes multiple set to choose from for a single tank), and a whole bunch of other stuff I can’t remember off the top of my head.
Everything is controlled via a program you install on your computer, you hook the board up to a USB on your computer and edit everything in the program, no weird remotes, not flashing light codes.
Besides the extra function expansion board, you can also buy separately a battle board to hook up either a Taigen, Henglong, or Tamiya battle system, and also a gun smoke expansion board.
You can easily drop the boards into a Taigen, Torro, Henglong, or Tamiya tank with no soldering required. Probably works for Hooben, Mato, and TongDe as well. In place of the function expansion board you can instead supposedly install the Henglong Gun Stabilization board.”, but I have not tried this, yet.
Downside is it costs about as much as some of the Henglong Pro tanks, and if you’re in the states, there are no stateside vendors, you have to get them from Europe.
As an aside, is the guy who makes the Clark Boards still making them anymore? Every time I go to look at his web store nothing is in stock except for a couple of the lower level TK boards.

Yeah, Clark is still making boards. He's actually released new products recently.

Re: Hobby level boards
IBU is no longer making new boards. Even their page is dead so there is no way to even download files to it.
Recently I have been using Beier boards (SFR-1-HL) and I am very pleased. But they are not fully "plug and play" and require some configuration.
