New guy from the Netherlands

Post by Eend »

Hi all! :)

I'm from the Netherlands and have been drawn to this forum by Edumardo's excellent VK 16.02 Leopard. I recently got a new 3D printer and was looking for a new project for my new printer and stumbled upon his project. My other hobbies are: FPV drone flying, 3D printing and model building. And with this RC VK i can combine all of those hobbies together (although not the flying part of drone flying, but the RC part :D )

Lekker bezig! En welkom. ;-)
1:16 was my scale. Until 'Konan' came into my life... an Armortek 1:6 Tiger 1!
... Now followed by a Panther G, 'Gunther'!

I'm a happy man. 8)

Welkom from the U.S., too. You are familiar with RC, so you probably understand electronics. The quirks of 3D printed AFVs may require some patient learning; however, there are so many here on RCTW who can help you. If it's of any help, I found the following sources on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VK_16.02_Leopard). Unfortunately, no ISBN nor publisher information were given.

Jentz, Thomas and Hilary Doyle. Panzer Tracts. 20-2. 2002.
Chamberlain, Peter, Hilary Doyle, and Thomas Jentz. Encyclopedia of German Tanks of World War Two. 1993.
Spielberger, Walter. Spezial-Panzerfahrzeuge des Deutschen Heeres. 2012.
Sowodny, Michael. German Armored Rarities 1935-1945. 1998.

My understanding of electronics is debatable :D But i do know how things work, i've built a 5 inch drone myself, so at least i know how to solder stuff together and how to configure the soldered stuff. And thanks for the links, it reminded me of the fact that i actually have that Panzer Tracts book as a PDF somewhere.

Duck Welcome to the Forum
Where in the NL are you ? I have very fond memories of the great hospitality shown to me on my regular visits to the DAF Works in Eindhoven, And pleasant evenings in the bars and cafes of Roermond although the caves at Maastrict heve left a rather less pleasing memory and the F1 racing at Zandvoort was very exciting but I still remember the sand in everything I ate :lolno:
But my fondest memory was the Dutch soldiers I had the honour of serving with in Germany, Trust me as a Soldier it is rare to find a nation that actually liked us :)
Enjoy the Forum and please ask questions.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
