Gepard Restoration

Post by tamiyatanks »

Hi everyone I pretty much got an old Gepard fully restored.  I have added vids and pics on my site:

www.tamiyatanks.com

One issue I have is when the radar dish turns the other servos twitch. Looks like there is a capacitor on the dish motor already.

Any ideas would help.

Cheers !

Hi, restoration was not too difficult.  Finding replacement parts was the hardest part.  AFV in Germany has lots bug the $$$ is crazy.  So I made my own radar dish and used LEGO tires as return rollers to save $$.  The LEGO tires are a perfect fit for the return rollers by the way ;)

Oops! Sorry Steiner. I need new glasses it seems!
Yep, I did think it does seem a tad pricey!

BTW Nice work on your Gepard Tamiyatanks. I wonder how much yours is worth now.

Cheers

A friend of mine bought one recently for £80-£100, rigged up servo's etc to control the mg's and radar dish, painted it and put it on Ebay. I think he only got about £150 for it? It was a nice little runner, it had been sat on a shelf for around 20 years??  ;D
