Sorry if this is the wrong area to post this, but im interested to know if anyone has tried to correct the turret rotation on the Tiger.
I was reading this thread http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6286894/mpage_2/key_/tm.htm and it looks not too hard to do.
The only thing im worried about is the downward movement of the gun mechinism getting stuck.
I'd also like to use a tamiya mantlet to get the offset gun. Does anyone think this is possible?
Cheers,
Rik
Has anyone tried this?

Re: Has anyone tried this?
It's been a long time since I did any work to my Heng long tiger, but this is one of the mods I was part way through doing.
Yes I found the gun mech snagged,my answer was to ditch the firing mechanism and cut the mechanism casing so it did not hit anymore.
The great thing about repositioning the turret is that it allows you to fill in the cut out at the rear of the turret under the bin, regaining the tiger turrets original profile. Also looks a lot better when the turret turns.
I'll dig it out later and get some pics if you want to see it.
Hope this helps,Steve.

Re: Has anyone tried this?
hi rik
i have made my Tigers turret rotation 360 degrees, thats quite easy, you just cut out the plastic stop carefully with a dremel, following the contours of the ring gear, i have also moved my turret 10mm back on the upper hull, which is more to true scale, at the moment i have not modified the turret, i am hoping to put a tamiya one on, if i can get one at a good price if i cant i will do the turret aswell, i dont have the problems with the airsoft gun, as i have put a tamiya recoil in mine with a muzzle flash, take a look at my build report and you can see the tuuret is further back, hope this helps

Re: Has anyone tried this?
Thanks for the replies. I would love to see your pics steve. I do want to keep the gun as im getting a creeping death turret.
I have considered using a tamiya turret, if found the parts on http://www.axels-modellbau-shop.de/katalog/en/Spare-Parts-for-RC-Tanks/Tamiya-56010-Tiger-I:::46_67.html
I want to do this mostly for the offset barrel. Maybe it would be posible to open up the botom of the HL turret. I've got a spare one, so I may have a fiddle.
