run this by mat.... tell me/him what you think.
suggestion.. a forum where members can signal / flag up their interest/ intention to bid on something in ebay to prevent conflicting bids with other forum members ( which has and does happen). Obviously you cant prevent a member from bidding but it might help in a gentlemanly kind of way to secure a better deal.

Re: an ebay forum re bidding.....
Would be handy to know then we dont tread on each others toes ,but on the other hand if its one of us selling you will want the best price ,maybe an idea for guys on the forum to put it in the for sale section first then you wont have sellers fees ,if there is no interest then put it on e-bay .

I agree with Pete, slap it in the for sale section first, and if you dont get the interest you want, then stick it on ebay. If it sells on this forum first, then at least you know its going to a good home.

Re: an ebay forum re bidding.....
yup i said it would be a good idea.
as long as everybody is good and honest about it, then it should work out fine.
I say this because as i said to Martin, If somebody puts up an item that they want and ask people not to bid on, but somebody else on the forum see's it and wants it, and doesnt care about being honest, then they might place bids on that item, when the previously wouldnt have known about it until it was posted up here.
another idea, a kind of extention to the main idea, is that people could put down the price of what they would be prepared to pay for it, and whoever is prepared to pay the most bids on it. Because even eif it goes for less than what the second person may have paid, they will atleast know that they wouldnt have won it anyway, and that all they would have acheived by bidding on it is make a fellow tanker pay more for it. However again, this idea needs honesty.
cheers guys, some food for thought (and hope that it made sense!)

Could send bids by P.M. to the seller and then he could decide wether to sell or place on e-bay if he wanted more, but then he might not get as much or he could get more .
