Taigen/Torro
Anyone else concerned they seem to be slowly winding down like Tamiya has pretty well with the 1/16 RC tank market? When was the last time they introduced a new tank and I've noticed even the German dealers seem to be running out of stock on hulls and parts

Re: Taigen/Torro
What a short memory you have, Tamiya produced the Centurion not so long ago and they will continue to produce 1/16 rc armour for the forseeable future I am quite sure ,
They never were prolific in their output concentrating on quality rather than quantity setting the standard that we can aspire too even if Heng Long/Taigen/Torro fail.

I think I am about to upset someone

Well I own 9 Tamiyas and spare parts for them is definitely a concern now that AAF is gone. While they might have introduced one tank in the last 5 years they have discontinued almost everything but that and I believe the Abrams. No dealer anywhere has even the Tiger or KT in stock for instance. But I still can't think what was the last new Taigen model. T34 perhaps?

Re: Taigen/Torro
Recently they released only refreshed models where the only difference is the recoil and elevation servos and the smoke from the barrel. Since almost all my models are Taigen/Torro, I would love to see something new from them.

Re: Taigen/Torro
Exactly. With Tamiya basically on the sidelines (Even the Centurion is pretty well unobtainable except some ludicrously priced EBay sellers) we are basically stuck with HL and TD now for new models. If HL is upping their game like with the Merkava that could be okay but the more manufacturers the better
Re: Taigen/Torro
Taigen/Torro released the Sturmtiger, Jagdtiger, the PZ4, and the IS-2 after the T34. The IS-2 would be the last release as a tank, but Torro has released the Swimwagon, the GPA, the Maxxpro, and the M-ATV. They have also done a new run of M16 half-tracks most recently. They stopped producing the KV lower hull as it has a number of issues. It runs well when it runs, but occasionally I get torsion bars that fall out. I believe Torro has also released a line of figures. So it seems they are just not concentrating on tanks at the moment.Panzermechaniker wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2024 6:43 pm Well I own 9 Tamiyas and spare parts for them is definitely a concern now that AAF is gone. Keep in mind that tank companies will do an initial run of a vehicle and it could be years until the next run it completed. For a long time the HL Pershings were getting scarce and then there was a glut of them. Even HL has said it will try to release 2 new tanks per year and the other two production runs it does during the year will be reruns of older models.

Stug looks vertically stretched and horizontally squished. Odd indeed! Hopefully just some editing errors and not the actual model.
