Tiger I. Back in August of 2013 Birger created several threads in the what to fix on your tank section.
viewtopic.php?t=11459 Sadly the pictures have gone with the wind. When I had idle time I addressed the issues with the Tiger. There are several other contributors in that what to fix section (and several other tanks).
This one got the same .080 Alum on the floor topped by styrene, but I didn't bother with the sides because this thing is impressively firm with the new floor. By the way my latest supply of aluminum comes from a couple of the local county workers. They are damaged signs some with bullet holes (rural America) some are bent and a couple are ones that were replaced by new signs. Depending on the size of the sign the thickness varies between .080/2mm to .140/3.55mm. And in theory I have a nearly unlimited supply!
One of the mods was adjusting the stock spring pressure by drilling a new hole. Birger's description is excellent, but this picture might help. The stock hole is at the 5:00 position. If you pull your suspension apart the springs are right and left. The arms (at least the plastic ones) are the same on both sides.
Turret centering. Again see his thread. Since it can't be seen, I didn't try to clean it up too much.
I deviated from his instructions a bit here. I cut a rectangle and simply did a 180 and glued back in. It is faint but you can see the lines on the sides and rear of the turret hole. Apparently I did a better job with the front seam.
Edit: to add this picture. With some sanding it shows the front marks. I remembered a rectangle and a 180, but it is clear that my mind isn't. That front gap filler measures 13mm and it is the same plastic. So I cut a rectangle then shifted the turret ring backwards (it has one of the three turret motor mounts). Then that 13mm was glued in the front.
I had read that some were disappointed in the flex on the upper hull. So I added some bracing.
Those mounting post at the turret and rear of upper will be leaving soon.
Wired up the smoke dischargers (that will be leaving soon). Also the front turret lifting lugs and vision slits.
The Rommel box fix. You can see the wedge to change the angle on the left side. And the lifting lug and deeper box.
And finally modified the stock HL drivers vision block.
