Everyone needs to read this.Taken advantage,
Regards of what rank you hold I believe that a lot of members have been sucked in [taken advantage of] because of the amazing brotherhood we have in helping other members advance the quality of their tank builds within this Forum, .I have been burnt by donating parts to a recruit [more than once] then seen the tank they needed help with on eBay a few weeks later for sale. All they wanted is to have the missing or damaged replacement parts for free to have a product that they could sell. If you look at our membership list, recruits make up the majority of our members and we do not ignore them, thanks to the good will of some of our hard core members that go the extra mile on this forum. My point is, if they are a recruit and they want parts and you have those parts, tell them to continue their build with more posts so you can see they are legitimate members and serious about the hobby, the help with parts comes later. [Free or not free][Just don't drop your pants guys]as I did. Regards John.

Re: Everyone needs to read this.Taken advantage,
Oh yes, that happened to me several times and pissed me a lot, hence I stopped giving parts to people I don't know for long.
I'd never do that. And, for example, everytime I open my Panzer IV I remember my friend Herr Jarndice, who helped me getting some parts which were hard to find.

Been there, done that a few times, won't do it again. Not even an it arrived safely.
I'll only do it for forum contributors.

Well said.
Touch wood, I’ve not experienced this on here, but then I am wary of new recruits as I so often see them arrive, never to interact again. Then again I didn’t interact for over two years when I started, partly due to life, and partly due me not being confident enough to show my work.
I have experienced helping people with parts, for old Citroens and Motorbike, only to be called because the parts were not clean, or not in as new condition. I now do not help anyone unless I know them.

I will help established and known members only as I have done a couple of times, at least then I know that the parts are going to a build rather than and auction and I’m not being ripped off. As for me I have bought from a few of you. Some parts but mostly paint masks from rad. The parts I did buy I still have as the build the were intended for ended up being scrapped, but they may come in handy for some decorative parts or to another established member at some point

And to meter rat. I too wasn’t always confident at showing my work. How ever I find that showing my work helped me with some builds where as others it gave me the confidence to put things out there. Some of my early work was not great. But the guys here helped me make it better. Now days I tend to post my work during the build process so if I make a mistake or something don’t look right but I can’t pinpoint why the guys here always help.

It is the way of the world I suppose. It only takes one rotten apple to spoil the rest.[In this case spoil it for the rest].On this forum you cant advertise something for sale until you have posted 50 times. Maybe it should be the same rule for [Wanted] Just a thought. John.
