Old Timer still a kid

Post by GhostRycon »

Hi all,

I just to wanted to say hi to you all.

Couple of years ago i bought my first tank and sold it after a while because i had no time for it. I’m still banged my head on the wall because i regret it so much.

It was a special Heng Long Tiger 1 Tiki Edition that i bought on Amazon at a low price.

My wife asked me what i wanted for Christmas this year and i said « A RC tank!!! »

She keep saying that i’m a kid in an adult body lol

There’s a HL Leo A6 that i bought on Mato Mart with the metal upgrade who’s on his way to our house.

I’m not allowed to open it up before Christmas lol

So, i will asked questions formsure on your forum to help me upgrade that Leo. I already ordered a barrel smoke kit on Aliexpress to start with.

I’m taking the oportunity to wish you all a Happy Holidays!

By the way, don’t pay attention to my writting, i’m a french canadian ;-)

A most heartfelt welcome to you, GhostRycon! There are quite a few on here experienced with the HengLong Leopard who will be eager to answer your questions and see your work. I hope you will keep us informed from the holiday on. And I would recommend, too, that a.s.a.p. you find a Tiger I to add to the stash; and then a Sherman, and a KV1, and...

So your wife says that you are "a kid in an adult body." Bless her dear heart! I say that anyone who cannot be an overgrown kid by the age of retirement is a sad and lonely lost soul. I have lived through sensitive situations requiring me to strive, however falteringly, for courtesy, balance, patience, kindness, But I am so glad I have still maintained the ability, when appropriate, to be my true age of "3 and over." I hope you will enjoy joining us with your toys! Yay!

Welcome to the forum GhostRycon.

Truth be told we're all kids at heart here. Glad you could join our gang. Don't forget to share pictures of said Leo when Mrs. Claus allows you to play.

Hello and welcome. Most men are big kids at heart. Our toys just get bigger and more costly. We to be able to have a little bit of fun. Ignore Herr Dr. Stick with the modern stuff, as there is not enough of it. Leopard, Challenger, T90, T72, Merkava, Bradley. That’ll keep you occupied for a couple of weeks. :D :D :D

Allo GhostRycon! Bienvenue depuis mon coin de l'Ontario! Le Leopard A6 est un bon char. Ta blonde est une bonne catch!

Whew! I've exhausted my French skills, and I'm pretty sure I slaughtered most of what I wrote. My wife is French-Canadian and a pretty good sport, too. It was only on tank #9 that she said, "You really need another one?!"

Mike.

"Ignore Herr Dr. Stick with the modern stuff." :haha: Actually Meter rat, I have all those and more, but I am behind on only one that you listed, the Bradley. I have my choice of Bradley and the seller bookmarked in my browser, but I am trying to practice a tiny bit of restraint :problem: , and the claim that it's 1/14 scale scares me some. But eventually...

There is a guy on one of the Facebook RC tank groups who did accurate measurements. He concluded that the Bradley in question is closer to 1/15 scale and the hull is a bit too long. But I digress. I don't want to take Mr. GhostRycons intro post too far into the woods.

GhostRycon: don't be frightened away: Meter rat and I won't tease you for the first few postings or so. The problem is that Meter rat is responsible for my newfound fondness for single malt whiskey. :D :haha:
