IIRC it's where the snorkel attachment goes. But I'm not 100% I hope someone can elaborate.Herr Dr. Professor wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 11:35 pm Alright! I give up! What is it?

Gentlemen,
Here is what I found: https://www.shapeways.com/product/PUBJF ... t-complete Just another clue and kit for sale and not the be all and end all answer to this Question.
regards,
Painless
P.S. Thank you for the tips on application, Hermann. I hope that the Ultragel superglue that I use for large part application will do the trick on these 1/35 pieces. Thanks for all the encouragement, everyone. I can certainly use it. ;o)

Yes it's an armoured pot that covers the telescopic snorkel tube, some mid production Panther Ausf Ds had a similar if not the same system, even a few Tiger 1s had something similar.
Unfortunately I can't find an image of one extended on a Tiger II or a Panther but there are a few for Tiger I

Re: [WINTER] Porsche Turret King Tiger w\Commander
Good Afternoon!
Today is a good day, weather and health-wise so I got a couple more steps on the 1/35 Hobby Boss kit completed. I am up to the 'Build and Add Tracks' step and have already looked over some others efforts on building the Kit Supplied tracks. Deciding to avoid that time sucking disaster, I found some called T-Rex Tracks that are workable and do not require glue to assemble. I ordered a set of those and will work past that Step while waiting. It is time to start priming and painting the Lower already at any rate.

Painless

I wouldnt use super glue for the larger scale Zimmerit panels Mr Wolf, a 2 part epoxy type glue would give you more time to place the section in the right spot.
