Tauch panzer III Ausf H rebuild l

Post by BREL »

as the title says I am only gutting the tank and putting in new gearboxes, removing the battery box and fitting metal tracks idlers, drive sprockets and suspension components on a non working Tauch panzer III Ausf H that I got from Dave at Swindon. also I am going to glue the battery cover shut and leave the front wall of the battery box to make a bulk head between the motors and the electrics
I will let the pictures speak for them selves

Re: Tauch panzer III Ausf H rebuild leving the upper hull as stock

Post by BREL »

I forgot to add that I got the Tank working at Swindon, it was the eight pin connector on the upper hull causing the problem and Dave had a spare, I am also fitting the metal road wheels and track adjusters when I get them.
I have bought some car body filler to fill the holes in the lower hull after the battery cover has been glued shut.

also forgot to mention that I had swapped the swingarms and shocks on sunday night, before deciding this morning to gut the inner hull of the battery box and middle mounts I am leaving the front one and the rear two mountings alone to fix the upper hull and lower hull together, I am going to put the main power switch where the smoker switch was in the side of the hull.

I have cut the bottom off the BB gun to give a bit more room inside the lower hull and to disable it permanently
also ordered the Ariel from tank-modelbau along with the bearings for the drive axles

Hi BREL
Like the mods your doing to the III  8)
the metal arms and shocks look great
if you cut a bit more of the BB gun you could move the elevation motor forward and make the bin actual size (I know you said will leave upper hull stock but why not LOL)
keep up the good work

The Pz III is a good runner out of the box.
This upgrade should make yours unstoppable!
Great work Brel, looking forward to a video of it in action.

Cheers
