ive been trying to glue jerry cans and othe item to the tank today but finding they wont stick im using the liquid stuff as for plastic models whatdo you use im thinking of using epoxy glue ?

Most of the time, plastic weld glue works, but a two part epoxy is better. Drilling and pinning is also good. Drill a hole in the piece you wish to attach, and glue in a short piece of brass rod, about 1mm, with super glue, gorilla glue or epoxy. Drill a corresponding hole where you wish to attach the item and glue in place. For a jerry can I would use two pins.

I would second the pin idea. Works great even if you just use CA glue with the pins.

Before you apply glue (Any Type) you should give a good hard scrub of both parts with Acrylic Thinners, You should get a firm bond after that.

As mentioned above, in the case of RC tanks, anchoring is a good practice. While in the case of static models, a drop of superglue is enough, in the case of RC, vibrations will sooner or later lead to the parts falling off.

I use a product called E6000 (once, I think, known as "Shoe Goo"). It's slow drying, but sticks durn near anything to anything and stays. It can be trimmed, sanded, and painted.

A bit late to this thread, but, if you can get it, I have found that this worked very well with the ABS used in many tanks, and makes for a strong bond. It needs a bit of care, as it will dissolve and damage a plastic surface if spilt. I also originally tried polystyrene cement, but it was hopeless...

As Herr Dr professor said: try e6000 synthetic rubber cement. It is perfect for anything you may want to remove and reposition later since it does not damage the plastic. It holds tight but the bond can be cut by slipping a thin blade between part and hull. Then glue residue can be peeled off leaving unblemished surfaces. I have used it on tamiya and henglong models with no problems. Both, I believe are abs plastic.

Heng Long tanks (and parts) are made of ABS which you can glue with Acetone or MEK (Acetone's hotter sister)
