My Favourite Threesome...

Post by 43rdRecceReg »

No titters, please :haha: Just in case you thought I'd gone past my expiry date, I've been busy elsewhere, and I'm not contacting RCTW via a ouija board. :D However, for reasons I can't fathom, messages sent via the 'private message' feature have not been reaching me. Och well, better find a new 'medium'. :D
Anyway, here's a reminder (for those who've not seen them) of my favourite semi-scratch built, and fully functional Britpack. To whit: Comet A34; Cromwell Mk IV; and Sherman Firefly.

and yes, they've been gathering dust' like me:

One of my projects has been to create a new 'Man-cave', for leisure, and extra storage (house, shed and attic full :/ :). It's bigger than it looks, at 10 ft by 9ft. It sports an openable porthole from a yacht; a 4' x 4' double glazed window, and is bolted to a three inch thick concrete base, lest the wind is inclined to blow it away. It's also lined with a breathable membrane, so it stays warm and dry.

and a partial view (what's observable) just through the porthole. The double glazed window has a fantastic view over the Loch.

Under my Youtube handle of 'Roy Royzflix' I've posted these three amateurish videos. Again, folk who have not seen the Comet and Cromwell in action might be interested.

Forgot to mention, for Sherman aficionados, the Sherman Firefly is based on the 1/35 scale Firefly 1c from Tamiya. So, there is a precedent for the type Ic I built, shape and configuration-wise. :)

Roy, surely the show off section would have befitted such a bevy of beauties

:D Thanks, Mick
The General section will do for now. We early 'Boomers' were conditioned to disapprove of 'showing off'. In this sense, for me, old habits die hard. :D
Millennials, by contrast, seem unable to go anywhere these days without pouting, and puckering up, (with artificially enlarged lips) into a smart phone. :D I wonder what a 'Millennial' tank would look like after approved cosmetic surgery?

It would probably have its barrel removed.

Along with a Government apology for those with a barrel that would rather identify as one without :headbang: :/

Very nice. I'm 3d printing a Comet at the moment to join ranks with my Firefly. He needs a British friend as those damn yanks are giving him so much crap about his sagging under carriage...but they are all just jealous of his long barrel.

Roy!
I remember you fretting over these three pieces of Armored Excellence. I always knew that they would turn out splendid.
