Rear convoy light on panther tank

Post by Sam84 »

Hello, just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to make the rear tube convoy light? And what could be used. I've already got optic cable and led I'm just stuck on how to make the tube for it and what size is it for 1/16?

Many thanks

On My Jagdtiger I used this light:
https://www.rctank.de/Jagdpanther-Panth ... light-blue

There is also full glass version:

However, from previous discussions, it appears that this light should be green, not blue.

The tube should have around 2mm diameter in 1/16.

Good morning,
for info, photos of convoy fires, and others on Panther, seems different depending on the type of tank, or can be supply? I read somewhere that there was a particular suggestion, depending on what the follower tank saw to light up, color and placement, in the case of the first photo, or the tube system, also comprising for some 4 compartments !!!

some model makers, use a plastic "Bic" pen cartridge and brass tube, with dimensions given by Kaczor,
but the LED will be too big, even in 3 mm, personally, I used 2 mm brass tube, made 4 vertical slits, with needle file, open on the back, then inserted 2 rounded flat LEDs (green), to marry the rounding of the tube, connected in series, it's a bit boring to do, with big fingers, sorry, but no photos

I use SMD diodes (sold already with wires soldered). Those are made for raildroad modellers.
