M60A3 Pre-release order?!

Boy, do I feel like a hermit living under a rock, in the water, with noise cancelling headphones on. Banggood is taking pre-orders for the HL M60A3? I didn't even know HL had one on the factory floors ready for production!

I suspect it’s a Tougde version but if it’s HL then even better

DKLM has better prices last time I checked.
Questions about the quality remain, I would be wary of buying one if you are unequiped to 3D print replacements for anything that turns up broken to be honest, based on reports I have seen so far...

It is the TongDE model as it says it on the pic of the transmitter in that pre-order and refers to Coolbank models. Whomever did the pre-order saw tank and said...Heng Long it is. A guy on Hobby Squawk got his and in the first day it broke the sprocket and one of the gearboxes.

Hah! No worries about that! Not much of a post second world war armour guy.
Although, I did build the Bandai M60A1 back in the 70s in 1/24. Crazy little whirring gearboxes as you walked 1m behind tethered to it by the "remote control". Good times...

I asked because we have had a few new or newish members that rushed into making bad purchases in the past, even before finding this forum, then having the news broken gently to them, that they should have held back and looked for advice from somewhere such as this first. Would have saved a lot of heart ache and tears.

Displaying a little more honesty Banggood is advertising a "CoolBank" 1/16 Centurion for pre-order @ $299.99 this being from the same stable as the M60 both are actually Tongde products and are apparently of the same quality of Heng Longs early Tanks ie crappola, I would beware until someone (I was going to say mug) has done a long term evaluation, certainly the early assessment of the Tongde M60 is not very promising.

I would love to have a M60. That was the main battle tank when I was with the 5th Mechanized Infantry Division in the early 80’s. It’s one I won’t hesitate to drop the cash on if it’s a good quality model. My other dream is a 1/16 Stug III Ausf b. One of these days a RC version will be released, I hope
