Hello,
Without specific tools, I was looking for a while, how to improve the Sherman Tamiya idler wheels? here is what i did
ordered on the net, sintered bronze rings, outside diameter 10 mm inside 5 length 10 mm

add the brass ring, glued cyano

As I could not reuse the original cache, reproduced in PVC, will be glued, and if I lose one? not complicated redo

for axles? used 5 mm BTR screws, with a non-threaded part, which corresponds just to the length of the Bronze bahe, cut, because too long, and shortened the head.

I had considered bearings? but nothing to machine the inside of the wheels properly.. and found these rings, a little play to get them in, but it works, and more metal against plastic

Hello, and thank you Rad, for the compliment, I have been going around in circles for a long time, looking for a solution? but am quite satisfied with the result. I just have to find Thermo sheath, to copy your idea on plastic wheels

Oh yes, my idea for the return rollers is great, that termo material seems to last forever and will protect your return rollers lifelong.

Hello Rad, I'm going to do the same on the smaller wheels, because I noticed on some, a flat spot, which I think is due to the friction of the tracks, on parts that don't turn? I stuck a little piece of Abs, and got back in shape

Yes, some dust, sand or hair can jam those return rollers, and it will only take some minutes until the track wears the wheels.
It happened to me once, so I replaced all the wheels, fitted some of that heat shrink, and never had that problem again.

Hello to you,
so I found what was wrong with these little wheels!!! after dismantling, I noticed that it was not turning freely, after having removed the threaded axle, I noticed that the wheel is too thick, which means that once tight to the chassis, the support comes to press on the wheel, preventing its rotation, placed a piece of sandpaper on the table and rub the wheel on the inside to remove a bit of material, and now turns without friction (hence the flat spot on some)

in red, the part that rubbed, the conical part once tightened, prevented the rotation of the wheel, because it came to press on it

Good evening, two questions please, what is this (yellow) on the upper hull? an evacuation chute? I don't have this on mine? or so may be visible, also the gun road support (green) seems higher than on the Tam. Maybe you're looking too much for perfection

Thank you in advance ….
