Re: Hooben Leopard 1A5
While I'm a big fan of any Leopard 1, I'm also fussy about my models and would prefer that they've got more structural integrity than wet newspaper. I wouldn't preorder.

Re: Hooben Leopard 1A5
Though not really into more modern armor, I think we might have to give Hooben a chance here. The lower hull is metal (for the first time from Hooben?) and the metal around the turret looks quite good.

Hello,
I am also a fan of Leopard 1 and this Hooben product looks very good. But I would wait for more technical details, such as wheel suspension, track tensioning and so on

Re: Hooben Leopard 1A5
Hello,
I have to say at this point that it is an enrichment - albeit a late one - but the surface structure of the additional turret armor and chain covers is very neglected or non-existent. A big flaw.
Greetings
Guenther

AFAIK the Hooben Merkava also had a metal lower hull.SCHWEREPANZER wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 2:27 pm Though not really into more modern armor, I think we might have to give Hooben a chance here. Re: Hooben Leopard 1A5
It looks like the same nylon tracks and sprockets they are using on the Hooben ZTZ-99A I have. I haven't run my ZTZ outside yet so I can't comment on the durability, but the gearboxes in the ZTZ are really noisy. If they are the same tracks they are narrower than the HL and Tamiya tracks. Seeing that the ZTZ has track skirts like this one, the HL and Tamiya tracks won't fit it as they won't fit under the skirts of my ZTZ.

The sprockets are definitely different. The tracks have different guide horns but look similar dimensions. The leopard 1 tracks are narrower than the other rubber pad tracks of the L2, c2 and abrams.tankme wrote: ↑Sun Nov 06, 2022 5:25 pm It looks like the same nylon tracks and sprockets they are using on the Hooben ZTZ-99A I have.
