PDSGB (or hl) gearpack or complete unit

Post by tomhugill »

Hey folks,

I'm after a double differential type gear pack or the whole thing with base plate. Let me know if you have anything fits the bill!Image

Hi Tom, I strongly advise against them. I am in the process of opening a treath on this Gear Box

My HL versions are more robust than the PDSG.

Treath is a hamlet east of Helford, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom.

I had a PDSG do the same thing after about 6 months to a year of use. The plastic of the case wobbled the bearing loose and caused slippage with excess movement of the shaft. The gears didn’t mesh completely after that. My Heng Long version seems much more solid and reliable. Just my personal experience.

my HL went out of order after a few meters. It is not a suitable Gear Box if you are looking for a slow moving and heavy tank. He messed up a planetary group ...

Good to know the hl has held up well given the dklm supply situation. The hl gearpack can fit the dklm base but you need to make some slight mods.

Had the outer bit of the case that holds the bearings worn then causing the wobble?
