Bit of advice, please. I have a 56014 Tamiya Sherman to build that supports 2 channel. I know nothing about RC but what I have read suggests I need to upgrade the 2 Channel to at least 4 channel. What do you think I can keep and use and what do I need to upgrade.

Many thanks

You can run a tank on just two channels, but you won't get any functions other than driving. So no turret rotation, no gun elevation, no gun firing, no machine gun, and no light control.

:) I confirm what Tankme says, you need at least 4 channels, or even 6, if you are using an old radio, not programmable, some functions require the use of Trims. Sorry, the attached manual is in French, but comes from Internet,
Google translate is your friend.

this kind of radio is very good, 2.4 Ghz 6 channels, delivered with the RX and easy to use, there are others of course?
It's a Flysky FS-T6

From the way you are talking about your tank, I assume you have the original Tamiya radio that looks like it has two channels with trim tabs.
That radio does have 4 channels, the problem is that the extra controls are through the "trim levers" on the remote.

Channel 1 (Multifunction control, right side)
Channel 2 (Throttle, left side)

Turret rotation and elevation, main cannon, machine gun, and lights only work when you are not moving (aka no touching the Channel 2 throttle stick).
They also use the channel trim levers.

Turret rotation - Channel 1 stick left or right
Turret elevation - Channel 2 Trim down, then Channel 1 stick left or right
Main Gun - Channel 1 Trim to right, then fast Channel 1 stick to right
Machine Gun - Channel 1 Trim to left, then quickly Channel 1 stick to left
Turn lights on/off - Channel 2 Trim Down, Channel 1 Trim to Right, then quickly Channel 1 stick to right

:D Good evening, I want to work in 4 channels? but at the cost of a lot of gymnastics between the sticks and the trims to modify the position, I think it's easier with a 4-channel radio, programmable, no need for the trims, all the functions with the sticks.. now it's not is just my personal opinion :)
