Taigen Panzer III/Stug III lock system.

Post by John Glover »

Hopefully there is some tankers out there can help me.I have a Taigen Panzer III/Stug III lower hull which has the first version lock system which when installed you unlock the deck by using a flat blade inserted into the slot which is on either side of the hull. Any one who has this version knows it is horrible to use. I purchased the latest lock system kit from R.C Tank. DE which is activated by a sideways sliding rod which exits out of bottom of the hull at the back .I realize when installing the new lock system I will have to create the oval hole were the rod exits but the kit comes with no instructions. Can anyone post some photos of how the new version mounts and where you have to drill holes to locate the mounting brackets .Any help much appreciated .regards John.

:D Hello, are you talking about this? then on the RC Tank site. from the bottom left of the item photo, there are two photos briefly explaining!!! the assembly, here is also a link from the RCU Forum, which may be able to enlighten you? personally in view of the different photos, I would say that one part is fixed on the two existing columns, and that the other is the same on the upper frame, with reuse of the existing holes for the fixing ..

Thanks for the responses, That is the lock kit I have .Martin ,do you have a outside photo of where the screw goes through the side of the hull. It will make my day to get this to work. I will put up a post of installing this for other tankers who want to upgrade. John.

:D If I may? and in view of the two photos of Martin? I would say that it must be the two vertical slots at the back!!!! do you have as on one of the photos the pre-drilled hole in the metal part of the bottom? which should give you alignment

Thanks for the replies to everyone but the new hull does not have any slots in the sides, they have been deleted so i am tying to ascertain to the position of the mounting screws on each side of the latest version hull.Martin, your latest sideways photo may be of help. Thanks .John.
