Kenny Kong's Tracks

Post by tankme »

Anyone know of a good place to get them? Specifically I was looking for the Abrams M1 style T156 tracks and the early M48/M60 T97E2 Chevron type tracks. Even the T142 later tracks would be cool to have for an M48 or M60. Kenny's site shows that he at least made them at some point and I know I saw the T156 tracks on HobbyRaw years ago, but they don't carry them now. I don't think anyone in the US has them. I've checked the Ebay store of Manheader and it doesn't have them. They show they are for sale on Chunwei's site, but I thought they were out of business? This German site http://www.jagdpanzer.net/ shows they have the T156 tracks, but not the T97E2 tracks. Also their website is really outdated and that makes me weary even though another guy said he got his T156 tracks from there (a year ago though). Tried to Email Kenny through http://www.kennysmodeltank.com/, but got no response.

Any other ideas?

Hi,
you can get Kenny Kong tracks on ebay,
but only the most common types.
Search for "Hobby Summit" or "manheader"

Only for an idea, because I didn't find a place to get the T156 tracks for my M48A2C, I've rebuilt M1 tracks with printed chevron parts.

Wow...that must've been quite a lot of work. Did you design the STL yourself or was it available online to resize? I do have a set of full metal HL Abrams tracks that I'm sure would be great for this since I doubt I will ever use them as is.

M48 looks great. What material did you print the pads from? Guessing ABS?

And thanks to, Panzerjaeger66, not looking for the T97E2 Chevron type tracks anymore. Thanks!

you're welcome

these were printed in PLA; that's not an ideal material but still works good. Better would be ABS, but PA12 would be best; all my printed tracks are made of PA12 even if they are still so tiny.
