Are you considering the kit as a donor for an RC modified unit or just a detailed static model? As l expect you know, quite a few of us here have used Trumpeter 1/16 kits to produce either types that are not available in RC or simply to produce a more detailed version of types that are available. Their kits are superb but some have found that panels such as top decks or turret panels are a little too flimsy to support heavier RC components. That need not be a problem as the kit parts can be invisibly reinforced internally.

For me the biggest conundrum is how to make good use of the mass of high quality left over parts. Engines and gearboxes can be made up and become loads for support trucks and ammunition is always useful. If you take the route l normally take which is to buy both the kit and a donor ready to run hull as a complete set it's fairly expensive but it'll keep you busy for a while and, ultimately, give you something to be proud of. At least you won't have to build mechanisms to rotate turrets!

You can always sell the unused parts from the Trumpeter kits on Ebay.
