Hi, my name is Dave
I have joined the forum as I need some assistance with my heng long tiger 1 tank. Model 3818
This is my first exploration into tanks.
I have been flying rc aeroplanes and helicopters for many years.
Also I have played with electric cars.
A person I know gave me a broken rc tank.
I did some research and this got me interested in rc tanks and I decided to proceed with the repair.
The plastic gears had been destroyed.
I stripped down the tank and repaired as stated in my post.
I can't figure out what has happened to cause the transmitter/ receiver issue and the fact it is all hard wired is foreign to me, as I'm used to plug in receivers etc.
I have researched upgrades, but I'm interested in fixing the existing problem.
It's not a polarity issue.

Re: Dave
Hi, I only have an old photo of the Rx, which is basically a circuit board as is the main board.
The RX has 13 on it
I tried to resize the photo but I'm having trouble.
I would have to open up tank for a new photo.
I will keep trying to resize photo of Rd board

Re: Dave
Welcome David: I had to learn the hard way for ten years before finding RCTW, so I am lad you found it fast. Yes, I have opened many of my tanks again, and again, and again.
In fact, once I get a new tank, bone stock, I open it to check all the wiring, speaker, smoker, etc. So that's to be expected. What I should take a photo right away, and your experience has suggested so to me. Now why didn't I think of that years ago?
I see that you are getting help with the motor wiring puzzle, and I get the impression that it's fixed. If not, ask again. These tanks are fun because you can go as far as you want modifying them, from electronics (I am just starting to try getting beyond the stock Taigen electronic, though I like them) to the painting and weathering (I have been a mediocre modeler since I was ten years old), but I keep working on my skills, a bit at a time.
