Upgrading HL pershing from 27Mhz to 2.4Ghz

Hi all, I've had a look using the search function but couldn't find what I need. I'm trying to upgrade an old 27Mhz pershing, to 2.4Ghz for my son. I got the HL TK-7.0, I've fitted it and managed to get the driving sorted as well as the headlights and taillights, machine gun flash and sound, engine sounds, and smoke. What I can't get is turret or gun movement, as the original system had a plug with about 8 wires going into it, and the new board has separate plugs for each function. So firstly I'm assuming I need to source some of the correct connections to fit the new board, should it then just be a case of finding which wires operate which function?
The operation of the main gun I am assuming is pressing the button on the top right of the control and moving the left stick forwards, as it is on our other tanks, but this doesn't do anything, not even the noise. I'd assumed that as the rest of the noises work, engine, machine gun and even turret traverse and gun elevation despite neither gun or turret being connected, that the main gun would also work.
And finally, has anyone got any internal photos of a Pershing with 2.4Ghz fitted, as it seems a very tight squeeze, I've just about got it to fit in the front corner, stood on it's side, but it's hard to screw the top down to the hull, and I think it may be hitting the underside of the turret.
Thanks.
