Military equipment losses- Dunkirk

Post by 43rdRecceReg »

I guess, the loss of matériel during the withdrawal from Afghanistan raises the issue, once more, of the 'spoils of war'. This analysis of usable 'treats' left behind for the Germans by the BEF, makes interesting reading. It's a staggering amount, 8O even if some of the figures are only estimates, or 'educated guesses'. The video also includes images of British matériel in German use, many of which I've not personally seen before. Some pics might inspire,or assist, a build here and there. :)

No wonder it took us so long to make good the losses although, by 1943, Britain was actually out-manufacturing Germany by a considerable measure, in many spheres (aircraft, tanks, etc..)
