Heng Long New Release Merkava
Sneak preview for release later this year. Looks nice & comes with lots of metal - far more than just a "chassis".

That looks really good. It's not a tank that interests me personally but it's great to see Heng Long putting out something new and improved.

Re: Heng Long New Release Merkava
I'm sure I will pick up either the Hooben or the Heng Long Merkava at some point depending on which I decide I like better. I think the Merkava is a unique looking tank with some unique features like the troop compartment that doubles as extra ammo storage when not carrying the crunchies.

Ah, a HL Merkava IV compared to Hooben's Merkava IV(m) that has the Trophy APS. Lots of gadgets here. Not much fighting history for this tank to brag about though.

Re: Heng Long New Release Merkava
I am talking about the Merkava IV, a very different tank than a Merkava I or II, and mostly against anti-tank missiles and IEDs with urban guérillas. It seems to be good at it.tomhugill wrote:Are you joking?lmcq11 wrote:Not much fighting history for this tank to brag about though.

Not my cup of tea ("Too modern..." he said, giving his Leopard 2A6 a sideways glance...) but it is good to see Heng Long going forward and bringing out something new. Now if they would only do a nice WW2 Churchill... with all the available fun variants (Crocodile anyone?) I'd buy three...

Seems to be the main thing tanks are used for these days! The IV saw extensive combat in Lebanon the second time roundlmcq11 wrote:I am talking about the Merkava IV, a very different tank than a Merkava I or II, and mostly against anti-tank missiles and IEDs with urban guérillas. It's not my cup of tea either but from that video it looks like an impressive step forward in terms of function, detail and performance so l expect I'll be a purchaser. It's now all down to price and availability.
