found this guy.
has a range of models, and although they are 35th scale, the research and paintwork are outstanding across a vast range of vehicles.

It makes you wonder if we should adopt 1/35 for RC as there is a real wealth of static models out there waiting to be converted.
The problem is that there is very little in the way of suitably small generic components - even micro servos are cumbersome in that scale. I guess there's no demand at present. Chicken and egg syndrome.

Re: STUMBLING AROUND THE NET........
Ironically, we have the IS2 and Panther... But seriously, are those tiny mounts and components in white plastic all custom made, printed maybe, or are they freely available on line? The scale also requires small tinny sounding speakers and the relative light weight makes for jerky movement, particularly on rough surfaces.
Those models are great but would they satisfy us? We've only just moved on from lurching hull recoil. That Panther's recoil would kill it's crew! All that said, l bought a rediculously cheap 1/72 RC Tiger 1 a few months ago and was amazed that it had all the functions. But again, all the internals were custom designed for specifically that model and mass production.
If only there were more companies like Trumpeter producing great 1/16 types that we need. Fingers crossed.

The only advantage on this scale I can see is the availability of countless additions to dioramas.General Jumbo01 wrote:Those models are great but would they satisfy us?

Re: STUMBLING AROUND THE NET........
Absolutely! The scale also makes a model battle ground about a quarter of the area needed for 1/16. Back garden meets could be achievable.
It may be restrictive now but it's a positive goal to aim for.

Re: STUMBLING AROUND THE NET........
I can recommend a good Cataract surgeon
The reason I went to "N" Gauge was to save space but only after i found all the larger gauge bits and bobs were available in the smaller size system,
I stopped with model railways when I could not find anyone selling catanary equipment in "N" gauge which of course is now widely available but it is too late I am firmly fixated on Trucks and Armour in 1/16

I think I am about to upset someone

Re: STUMBLING AROUND THE NET........
I often wish l had gone down the N road but, like you, considered it almost toy like back in the '90s but suddenly (after another big investment on OO), that all changed.
My workspaces are now equipped with lots of lighting and spare reading specs. However, how do you overcome the problem referred to as Fat Fingers! I wish l could mature as well as a good scotch!

Kaczor,
That is one very awesome tiny, miniscule, petite, Panther! Gotta love it! Thanks for posting that!
Cheers,
Eric.
