Vintage Tamiya tank, much unknown about it

I bid on this tank knowing very little about it. Says 1/16 but a google search shows nothing for a vintage Tamiya 1/16 Chieftain tank. Only 1/25 and 1/35 models from what I can see. Maybe the seller made an error?

Perhaps it will although personally the incessant rattling of it's stamped out gears drove me to distraction coupled with the rubber insert track pads constantly coming unglued and wandering around trying not to tread on it while operating the buttons on the plastic box at the end of the (Too) short line.
All in all not my first choice.

Perhaps it will although personally the incessant rattling of it's stamped out gears drove me to distraction coupled with the rubber insert track pads constantly coming unglued and wandering around trying not to tread on it while operating the buttons on the plastic box at the end of the (Too) short line.
All in all not my first choice.

Nothing stays standard with me, so it's good for overhaulin. I had no intention of chasing it around on my hands and knees with the battery box in my hand.

Did it not quote the scale at all? If it helps l have a 1/25 Peterbuilt conventional with long gas tanker trailer that would match. Came from a well know Chinese retailer claiming to be 1/16th!!

It said 1/16 in the details. I have two 1/24 tiger-1 VStanks and a 1/20 Ford Mutt.

"[R]ubber insert track pads constantly coming unglued" could, indeed, be discouraging. If you get to the track pads, Tucker, try E6000 glue. It's the one to which I resort when nothing else works or I want a wholelotta strength with just a little glue surface. It takes 30 minutes to set, at least overnight to dry, but after that, it seems to me to be unbeatable.

I remember watching a youtube video of a Heng-long challenger-2 newly fitted with rubber pad tracks. By the end of the video, his floor was littered with rubber pads!

That E6000 glue is a rebranded version of the ShoeGoo l have recommended over some time here. Same manufacturer who realised the original name/purpose was limiting sales! BEST all purpose glue on the planet!
