Afternoon, sorry if I've missed this subject… Picked up a 2nd user above, for give away money. Can anyone advise on how to hookup micro 1.5v LED’s to the front lights on the above. DMD MF01 installed. I could always hookup to a separate AA battery pack, but if possible would be nice to operate through the TX.
Many thanks Gary

Hi Gary,
I'm not sure about wiring them to the dmd but you could always run them from a spare channel on your receiver, you'll have to fit resistors though. You can also get a little gizmo that fits in between the receiver and lights that will enable you to switch them on and off from your radio
Cheers, Lee.

And don't forget the Tiger 1 crew often removed the headlights and carried them inside the Tank, To emphasise that Tiger 131 at Bovington was captured minus any front lights and as far as I know it still does not have them mounted on the body.
So a Tiger 1 without lights was not so unusual during daylight operations.

Many thanks for the info gents, and the brief history lesson, interesting. Everyday is a school day….right. Now, would you have any idea what the “Gizmo” was called Lee?.

There you go Gary, you can find them on the usual auction sites, not many sellers here in the UK but if you are prepared to wait you can get them from China probably a couple of quid cheaper, hope this helps
Cheers, Lee.

Just remember though Gary that you will need to use the appropriate resistors otherwise there will be too much power going to the led when plugged into the receiver and it will burn it out
Cheers,Lee.

One possible alternative is the Tamiya lighting kit- here:

It's worth mulling over, at least. The MF unit has a spare 5VDC connector that could be used, so long as the correct resistors are in place to step the voltage down.
