British WW1 official blueprints

Post by Will01Capri »

Does anyone out there know of anyone who has blueprints for any of the WW1 British tanks.
A Mark VIII or IV tadpole of particular interest. I fancy designing and building my own fully rc version and I have seen people with really good looking cut thru blueprints, but I cannot find anything high res.

Bovingdon is your best bet - don't ask me how much they charge for prints tho.

Anyone suggesting one of Bradford's 'tank colouring books' will be derisively laughed at... :lolno:

The Haynes Mk IV book has some engineering drawing images so it'd suggest the blueprints do exist. And given the more recent replicas are "original" they must also have had access to some decent drawings.

BovingDon is a village in Hertfordshire,
Adjacent to it was a USAAF/USAF Bomber base,
John Glens Mercury Space Capule was flown there for onward transport to the Science museum The film "The War Lover" starring Steve Mcqueen was made there as was "633 Squadron",
My father worked there as an Armourer in the latter part of WW2 after being medically discharged from the Army,
It is now the site of a Category 2 Prison but search as I might I cannot find a Tank Museum :lolno:
BUT BovingTon in Dorset has a fine Tank Museum in the grounds of the Headquarters of the Royal Armoured Corps.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
