Question about the new Torro MRAP release

Post by MichaelC »

Hi all,

Can anyone confirm that the two new Torro release of the MRAPs (M-ATV and the Max Pro) actually has working suspension ? I checked out most of the video out there and it does not look like it has working suspension. I know that it is only 2WD, but if there is not even working suspension it would be a real disappointment.

The tests on RCU said no (even tho the axles do look like those on the front of the Torro M16 in their photo's). If they were cheaper I'd be tempted to get one and put a WPL based chassis under it, but I can (and did!) find better uses for my 189 euros.

Spend a bit more & get the larger HG P602. You'll not be disappointed.

Hi thanks although on one of the take apart video it does look like it has independent springs. I have owned both the HG P802 and the HG HUMVEE and still has the HGP602. All of them are awesome and I don't expect the Torro to match that.

I have also mated the Trumpeter version of the M-ATV to a WPL 4WD drive lower so there is no incentive for me to do it again. Here is a video of it:

As far as I know there is no suspension, no springs etc. And two wheel drive.

I own both the M-ATV and the MaxxPro R/C version from Torro and there is no suspension. They are two wheel drive only. If you run them on AA batteries they are very erratic in function. I may try to upgrade mine to 4WD and suspension later, but my initial bad experience with them has left them on a shelf at the moment behind a mound of other projects.

Thanks........ I guess that would be a pass for me then. I understand the 2WD is not the best, and I would have been okay with that but no suspension is a deal breaker for me. Thanks for the confirmation much appreciated.
