With kwk088's dimensions on SAG I was able to scratchbuild a 1/6th German fire extinguiser. Here are a couple pics of my scratchbuilt one. I used a section of a Sanford Liquid Permanent Marker for the body of the extinguisher and sheet styrene for the rest along with some thin tin and a paperclip for the handles. I have yet to prime and paint it. Just wondering if to paint it panzer grey reguardless of the color scheme I do the halftrack in. After it's painted I will need to decal it.
I’m sure Kent will be impressed with this Harold, Armourpax also make this in resin which is quite cheep don’t forget Panzer grey was only used up to the first half of 1943 after that they would have been painted either green or yellow, red would have been only used for internal extinguishers
They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM
Yes I plan on decaling it. Yes I know armorpax and panzerwerke both sell it in resin. But at the moment I have to lay out 800.00 bucks to fix my van so funds are short and I'm pushing over head laces for transportation right now. Plus I liked the challenge of making it myself, takeing bits of this and that and creating something.
I am with you Harold,I will be coping your work on my 1/6 Tiger.I mean to say using your idea's for making detail parts rather than buying them,my first task is to fabricate new exhaust mufflers and guards.I always enjoy your build, sir you have great skill and as always it shows, really want to see the paint work so keep us up to date.and thanks again for the jeep things are growing on this board which is good for the forum.Blake

Thanks for the info, square plasticard bar stock bolt holes drilled through, then plasticard sheet bent between the bar stock worked out for the guards, except the bottom side piece with the inner panel, and bolts.Still working out the mufflers, the tube parts not a problem, the puffer caps spring so they will work is a little problem,so far springs have to much tension. It will work out,and your clever use of material is an inspiration.Sax
