Tiger Engine Model

Post by Jimster »

Speaking of Tiger engines, I would like to shamelessly promote the awesome model offered by our very own WCP RC Models. Not only a great pair of people to deal with but they provide us with very nice unique models which are unique to our hobby.
Here is my Maybach Tiger engine from them in the very early stages of painting and it will be detailed as I google photos of the real thing. I strive for accuracy when possible although I’m certainly no museum quality modeler however their efforts will make it much easier. It came fully assembled and is very sturdy.
Here I have a base coat of flat black with an overspray of Panzer Gray.

I would prefer this to a resin one any time. I’m glad you reminded us that these are produced by one of our own jimster

Will made me a couple of bespoke fully functioning 5th wheels   a little while back for a pair of converted prime movers (a JJRC and a WPL) to haul my Bruder Low loaders and they really look the part on a truck chassis with a bit of Treadplate and a pair of decent mudguards to enhance the look,
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Thanks guys, that was a cool bit of fun making those.
It was only after making the HL230, I thought it be cool to model something that looked like the HL210 aswell.
I have used one of these engines in a rat rod aswell haha, its a beast of an engine.

I love to design stuff, doesn't really matter what it is, it is all good fun. But being able to model stuff for our hobby is cool as many things and details can be produced.

Always happy to help

Nice start on the engine Jimster, i look forward to seeing it all painted, it will be a lovely display piece. Another vote for Will and Katherine, they have supplied myself with many of their items including some one off pieces needed to complete my models, we are lucky to have them on here alongside the other great vendors of this forum

Cheers, Lee.

Hi Jimster Thinking about a resin printer. Want to make stuff like this as detail in resin is supposed to be amazing.

We will have a resin printer for 2021 so at somepoint We will also be able to improve the details on all our models.
Agood mix of fdm and sla parts should help improve models going forward :)
