Hello RC Tank one of my hobbies
RC Tank M26 Pershing Tank problem:
Turning the tank on lights start blinking but does not start.
Tried setting "Bind sequence"
Still did not start.
Made sure all batteries were replaced ,charged!
Still not starting.
Any suggestions?

Re: Hello RC Tank one of my hobbies
RC Tank experience:
Purchased these kits two-Tiger,Russian T 90,two Pershing.
Up graded all them of tracks, wheels, motors, plus other accessories.
Live in U.S.A, retired,Residence San Francisco, California
Well furnished hobby shop, lathe, drill press, airbrush , compressor, mini milling machine(converting to ball screw power feed X-Y axis for now, digital reader set-up.
Actually first started converting static model submarine to RC diving, adding my own "syringe screw drive ballast tanks) Also vacuumed formed my own. Do not recommend converting static model submarines, basically amount required additional and space for water tight parts.
best to purchase RC submarine kits.
Hopefully you can help me with my first post
"Bluefish model submarine" If you should try this be sure and ventilate your shop!

Re: Hello RC Tank one of my hobbies
Hi Welcome to the Forum
First things first, I am assuming your Pershing is either a Heng Long or a Taigen/Torro Tank,
Switch everything off,
Right switch on the Transmitter and then switch the Tank on, the headlights will begin flashing,
Following the instructions in the supplied leaflet bind the transmitter to the Tank,
if the headlights stop flashing then you have bound your Tank,
THEN following the instructions start it,
Flashing headlights apart from binding and switching on the Tank indicates a flat battery.
Always check the battery's in your transmitter before assuming disaster has struck.
Keep asking the questions.

Re: Hello RC Tank one of my hobbies
Richard Hi, Here follows the from the book Binding and starting procedure for Taigen/Torro Tanks----
First ensure the toggle switches on the top of your transmitter are in the correct position-------------
Left toggle switch Back--------------
Right toggle switch forward-------------
Now this is important switch on the transmitter AND the Tank at the SAME time------------
The transmitter will be showing a blinking red light on the front panel and the Tank Headlights will be blinking as well-------------
Move the transmitter to the front of the Tank and the blinking light on the transmitter should go solid as should the blinking Tank headlights.
The Tank is Bound----
Now move the right toggle switch BACK----
Move the Left toggle switch Forward----
The engine will start.

Jandice:
My Tank Heng Long is M26 Pershing Tank.
Tried your suggestion, no response, did ot start.
Both transmitter, receiver have power,
I beleive the crystals do not match, how to inspect if this is the problem?
Never have tried openting(how to do?)

Re: Hello RC Tank one of my hobbies
Until now I had assumed (always a mistake) that your Tank was a Taigen/Torro 2.4 digital now you tell us that it is a Heng Long 27 Mhz analogue,
This changes everything.
Does your transmitter have the word "Sender" on the front?
Does your Transmitter have three little boxes on the lower right front with a number from 1 to 10 on it ?
If the answer is YES then it is a Tank with a crystal powering the control board,
You will need to check that the crystal in the Tank matches the crystal in the transmitter, the number on the front of one of the transmitters three little boxes should be the same as the one in the Tank.
You may well have a pre "RX18" control board, If all the wires feeding into the control board are soldered in place it is an early board with an identifiable crystal,
BUT If everything is plugged into the control board you have an RX18 or later and you will not have crystals and you will have a different model of transmitter
Starting the early Heng Long Tanks is a black art, The order of switching is the secret,
It has been years since I fired up an analogue Heng Long Tank so here we go----- Switch on the Transmitter then switch on the Tank OR the other way round, Do not expect much in the way of sound effects it mostly consists of the noise of the gearboxes and the running gear in action,
The Transmitters battery connections were notoriously bad.
Opening a Heng Long Early Tank is a case of hunt the Screws,
Two of them will be hidden behind the tracks!! the others are a little more apparent, If you are serious about this Tank I would suggest you give thought to stripping out the internal R/C equipment and replacing it with a late Heng Long or Taigen control board and transmitter,
Neither conversions are too difficult or overly expensive. But you will have a decent Tank with good sounds and a smoker and a better range.

Re: Hello RC Tank one of my hobbies
Jarndice:
First thanks for your patience:
I went ahead opened the transmitter the board connections are all plugged in.
tha antenna is short pointed only in direction of transmitter antenna frame (same style as receiver short wire)
Originally tank started. My assumption is probably when I gave away two running RC tanks the transmitters got mixed?
Current: M26 Pershen tank has been totally up-graded.
May this be the problem?

Re: Hello RC Tank one of my hobbies
It sounds (Excuse the pun) as though you have given away the wrong transmitter Dohh
By looking at the Control board can you identify it or photograph it.
Does it say Heng Long or RX18 or Taigen on it and does it have a fan on top ?
Is it possible to get your old transmitters returned temporarily so you can check them against your Tank ?
