Authentic Yellow Headlight Source

Post by Jimster »

I bought some metal Tiger1 headlights way back when but the cold blue light always bugged me. I hardly drive about with the headlights on but I want them to look as realistic as possible for when I want them on. Would you kind folks please share what you use for realistic incandescent headlight effects? I’m really striving for a realistic look.

I've always used nail varnish on bulbs and led's in Christmas lighting for many years to get the colours I want, and it's harder wearing than paint.

Gary (Max-U52 ) on the forum had sent some my way some time ago. They were small and very realistic.

I use warm white 3mm LEDs from digikey, but you can also find them on amazon and ebay. Like these

If you just want a couple PM your address and I'll send you three or four.

As Max said, warm white leds. You can get 100 for one euro.

Never get yellow leds but warm white.

Edit: after taking a look att Max's link, id not get leds with flat head, because the beam is shorter.

I used the Flathead LEDs because they're easier to get into those tiny little headlight buckets they have on the P3 and the P4.
