Slipping back into the mix

Hey guys. It has been several years since i have been adding anything worthy here. I have been occupying some of my quarantine time fiddling around with some of my battlers. Sold a lot off years ago. Have a Jagdtiger on the way to add to the fleet. I have been stopping by periodically to grab some painting pointers for some of my diorama builds. Anyway, I look forward to following along. I see Painless is still here. Still in Colorado, sir? A few projects I worked on during the Rona era.

Nice dioramas! Would you mind sharing how you made that draped flag look so freakishly realistic?

It’s tissue paper soaked in watered down pva glue. Then painted with a brush.

Welcome back! It is good to hear that you are doing well and have some time to put into the Hobby. Those dioramas are Museum worthy! I am no longer in the Firestone area. We bought a small ranch in the middle of the Southern Colorado Rockies and have been enjoying the quiet life next to a _little_ town called Gardner. Sassgrunt is still a fixture here and I regularly communicate with him and Alpha out on the Islands. The Forum is going gangbusters as you will soon see with tons of fresh new faces and enthusiasm. I am closer to retirement ( especially with all the Pandemic nonsense ) and have years worth of Builds laid out to keep me out of the Spouse' hair. ;o) I ventured into trucks and artillery recently and here is the latest result.
I am looking forward to building some concurrent vehicles again with you one day. Stay Safe!

If you can, use double ply tissue with out embossing. Drop the flag shaped tissue that you cut, into the solution. Then apply and manipulate with a brush loaded with the solution to get the folds nice. Try not to simply press it all together. The two plys help a bit.

Oh. I forgot to mention. I purchased a 3D printer and am getting quite good at the design program. Been making stuff for work and my modeling. Here is a German spotlight I drew up. Working on German Infrared optics for the 1/16.
