The
Strabokran was a portable gantry crane designed by the
Tank repair units of the Wehrmacht in World War II
has been used.

The
The J. S. Fries Sohn company in Frankfurt am Main developed the
Strabo crane before the start of the war. There were three variations
Load capacities from 15 to 16 tons and various years of construction
distinguished. Around 100 were built by the end of the war,
partly also under license from the Stratenwerth company in Duisburg.
Half-chain tractors (Sd.Kfz. 8 or Sd.Kfz. 9) pulled the
Strabokran in the field. It took ten to build the strabo crane

we asked ourselves what our strabokran really can withstand .....







A tiger with all the technology, even modified chassis, results in a deviating ...

Now the end is coming soon.

Only the upper trolley has to be made and then it can be painted.

Now after a long time: oh what a very long time the strabo crane is finally finished.

All that was missing was the usual small items, as was so often the case until it was attached to the model.

Painting also took time in the end because the model didn't have a lot of straight surfaces.

Some of the pictures are already known, so I would like to show the rest of the group.

Lukas,
Excellent work, I have a Strabokran 16t in the works, your puts mine to shame, yours is much more accurate than mine I started mine using a 1/35 model I found on Thingiverse which was very poor as far as details and structure.
The model maker did not use tubular support structures, I guess so it would be easier to print. I should have started from scratch like you have done.
I bought Volker Ruff's book and saw how they were really built. So I started redesigning some parts.

Yours is an inspiration of what can be done.
How much design time do you have into the project? Print time for one? I see you are building several of them.

Thank you once for the compliment. I am particularly happy when people deal with these things.
There was far more than just tanks at the time, these models enrich the models and show how the tank maintenance was done in the field.

To the whole drawing
I no longer know how long it took me for everything.
The uprights were most of the work.
I did it with my old printer, but it took a while until the parts came out like this.
Many failed attempts.
Printing time per post I think was 6-7 hours
But in the end it was worth it as always, you just have to have enough stamina and it will be something.
