In this photo are three different gear boxes.
Top: Planetary gear box
Center: Geared motor 60:1
Bottom: Geared motor 50:1
All interchangeable with my standard housing.

The planetary gear box at the bottom is the shortest of them all at 75mm long.

It's an impressive job, well done !! I never tested the planetary gears, but it sounds great.

There is such an array of talent here. We all have a skill set we can share with others. My love of hobbies started with plastic kits at seven years old. I have been since I was seven. 52 years. Plastic kits went building dioramas and kits for the museum to working on real aircraft. I took at hiatus post an injury and a surgery that allowed a return to the flight deck and to flying for the largest Airline in the world.
I wish we could get the younger generation into doing something with their hands and mind instead of playing video games in mom's basement until they were 30.

Beautiful job on the gearbox. I appreciate you posting engineering of this nature. Kudos!

I use alot of gear reduction motors with planetary and other style gearboxes, but its great to see someone taking the time to make their own.
