Hi all!! I'm back after a long time
Perhaps a few of you can remember me from some months ago when I was quite desperate to fix some problems I had with my first HL Jagdpanther tank: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=27988

I ultimate gave up with that tank and I disassembled it, retrieved all the useful components and assembled all the stock parts to make it as a non functional ornament tank that is displayed in my office.

This Christmas my wife has given me a new Taigen Jagdpanther hull and a Taigen 2.4 board + controller + speaker.
With all the parts I had left from the HL Jagdpanther, I ultimately assembled my dream tank:

It has been my first totally customized tank, and everything has been done by me so it's rather amateurish but I'm quite proud of what I achieved. I just don't like how the decals look, when applying them I thought that only the graphic was being transfered and not the whole film; I will take care of this later.

The tank consists of:
-Taigen Jagdpanther plastic hull.
-Taigen metal lower hull with metal torsion bars.
-Metal wheels and tracks.
-Taigen 2.4 ghz board + controller.
-Some random metal details like the towing chains and ventilation grids.
-Plastic decorations from my old (and defunct) Heng Long Jagdpanther.

I painted the whole tank with Tamiya sprays (not airbrush) and then applied a layer of black wash. I had no idea how wash works, so I messed up a bit with it but I ultimately liked how it looks.

I added some other details like a real rope on one side (I'm sure I saw this on another RC tank and I loved it) and a random chain for some more fancy effect and I think it's pretty much done

I like your Hunting Panther! I got one of these for Christmas this year as well and am looking forward to making it the next Build. You have done a Good Job of making it look battle ready. Don't count it as done tho' ( they never are ) You'll find yourself revisiting it, I will bet, as new techniques and new details become available.

That's a very nice Jagdpanther you got!! Are you going to upgrade it and paint it or do anything new to it?
And yeah I supposse a tank is never finished... though I'm planning to build a new Jagdpanther with different details and paint scheme in some time

More than one of a kind is never a bad thing! ( Ask any Shermaholic ) I love the Paint on this tank-killer so I will work to preserve it as it goes through a Detail build. I have components to make the barrel recoil so am considering that. I'll start a build thread on it this Spring. I will probably upgrade my old Taigen Panther along with it. That tank will benefit from a new metal lower and some new electronics.

I see some lovely details there!!!! Looking fordward to it!

About the decals:
First apply some GLOSS clear coat there where you want them to go.
Next, cut the decals as close to the numbers as you can.
After the clear coat has dried, apply the decals, you could use the decal fluids micro sol and/or micro set, or just apply them with water.
When dried up, spray the decals with mat varnish, or paint it with a soft brush.
If you work this way, you won't see that rectangular cut, like on your pics 4 and 5.
Maybe you can take off the decals again, using some warm water (if you haven't clear coated them yet), and apply some gloss clear coat first.

Thanks for the tip!! Fortunately I haven't clear coated the decals yet. If I try to remove them with warm water, will this remove the black washer aswel? I haven't barnished or fixated anything the paint/wash yet.

Nice Jagdpanther! Is that the Taigen one? I see it comes with metal wheels and tracks? What about the hull? Is metal too?

If you did use waterbased pain, it will come off indeed. You can repaint it after you did finish the decal job. Be carefull with the removal of the decals, so you do not damage them.

Looking great except few brass details (ropes, grill covers). In real tank they were made of steel and don't have copper / brass shine

The paints are Tamiya sprays, directly from the can. No water mix here. Same for the wash layer, I directly applied the wash with no mix of water. Do you think it will come off if I remove the decals with warm water?

Yeah I suppose!! How I can fix this? Can I just paint them?
