Bought this off of Ebay for a bargain. I managed to get the gun to elevate but It doesn't have barrel recoil. Any ideas how I could install barrel recoil?

My guess is that this is based off the Tamiya M4 105mm which does not have recoil. Funny enough if you run the test mode on the electronic you will get recoil but when you actually run it for real it does not. I ended up using a separate recoil unit from RCTA to make it work with the Tamiya electronics:

You have to plug this into an unused radio channel and mapped it to the firing function.

Obviously you also have to make the barrel recoil capable also.

Yeah it's got the stock electronics, how would I map it to the firing function?

That’s a Nick Aguilar resin turret by the look of it.

I installed recoil in mine and no elevation, obviously they installed elevation and no recoil. It’s a. Erg tight fit for both.

You can get a Y servo wiring splitter, and take the firing stick (usually the left one up) and hook it up to the servoe from RCTA.

I bolted a Tamiya recoil unit to that metal bracket at the turret base - sadly all of my pictures were lost on the great Photobucket debacle

Cheers guys, I'm going to remove the elevation as there isn't much movement any way and get a recoil unit, project for over the winter :) I think I might have to get a new barrel as there isn't any of it in the turret to attach a recoil unit to.

Knock the barrel out and line the hole with some brass tube - assuming that whoever assembled it hasn't glued the 2 pins in that hold the mantlet in place...

Failing that I can PM you the original manufacturers contact details, he'll be able to supply replacement parts.
