Continuing ztz woes

OK, so some might remember the saga of my melted ztz.
Whilst good old forgebear is sorting out a new turret for me I've rebuilt the chassis.
I've used a new heng long two sound white label front unit. All is good except there's no main gun fire. When I press the button nothing happens. No sound, no recoil, zip. Having said that I'm using a mix of old and new wireless harnesses and currently nothings going into cn3 (mg fire five pin port) or cn2 and the blue cn9.
What am I missing please?

Two questions, were the original electronics the older version? If yes, have you changed the 8 pin hull connector board to match the duel sound MFU, because they are wired differently?
Another sort of question, I'm guessing you have all the turret electronics connected out of sight in your pictures, as some features don't work without it all connected.

Hiya.
No I've been using the old 8 pin connector so I understand I need a new one of those.
Also it's been pointed out where to plug the fire two pin lead into the five pin socket.
I'm hoping once I get the correct board connector all will settle down.

Don't you have to push the button and then push the left stick all the way forward? My Sherman is a 5.3 and I have to push the button down on the right and hold it while I push the left stick all the way forward and then the airsoft unit starts winding up.

The red/black curly connector from the Airsoft unit connects to (five pin) Ch 3. If it's not connected, there'll be no bang for your bucks.
This connector shares a circuit with the MG, and is also crucial for recoil and
the gun sound.
It's the pretty much same with the early Taigen MFUs, if I recall correctly.
