
My avatar shows a 41 year old model of a early production Sherman model Tank that I had attempted to convert to radio control back in the old days or early days of my radio control journey. That attempt was less than successful and the Tank was severely struturactly compromised in the attempt. It was then later used as a prop in a firecracker Tank battle and was further damaged (30 some years ago) but I kept the remains in my model scrap yard and recently scrounged one of the intact drive sprockets off the model to use on a Sherman Tank that is still running in my collection that needed the part.
I am not a purist or scale person these days as I focus on mechanical\electronic aspects of the hobby as I am a retired electrical designer. I have been told my models have a Frankenstein like quality and that's Ok. Some of the older ones do for sure as I was a avid modifier of my models trying to achieve maximum off road mobility and that resulted in lots of non scale "upgrades"
