M10 Wolverine

Post by Dark46 »

I can't thank Dave at Forgebear enough for getting my latest purchase.

Now I have a Mato full metal M10 Wolverine to go with my fast growing Collection. It is very well put together and the weight took me by surprise. Access to the inside is easy with the release of one screw under the engine grille.

I think the lights being yellow in colour along with the gun flash is much better than the xenon white on other tanks from other manufacturers. I was able to take out the Mato receiver and put a turnigy iA6 in to use with my 9x or FS-I6S. The sound in on full volume as there was a jumper in the control port, I have now put a control in there. There is no smoker as there isn't any room as a twin pair of oblong speakers are in the way. I'm not sure I would want to put on in, but the exhausts dont have any holes so would have to be modified.

It runs very smoothly and I couldn't be happier with it. It is IR and flash is lead down in the top of the turret. The only thing I might change is get a Clark S-Bus TK40 board from Maxmekker and put this board in my M4 Sherman that I have.

I have changed the Tamiya connectors for XT60 as I have now with the rest of my models . The Tamiya ones to be honest are not good and in not time become difficult to connect.

Gosh, what a fine model you have there

Yes, Dave is very good at acquiring what one needs

As for the tamiya connectors, I think a lot of new guys to the hobby get caught out by their poor quality.

Again, lucky you, a super purchase :D

What about the accuracy of the model in itslelf compared to available drawings and quotes?
I feel the greatest distrust in Chinese stuffs, but that's my own opinion and I share it.
Thanks for any feedback.

No idea I don't look at that sort of thing to be honest. Im the wrong person to ask. I wouldn't remember all that sort of thing. I'm just glad I have any of my models and enjoy having them and using them.

My level of modelling isn't that great so I try not ro dwell to much on what may be wrong, as I wouldn't be able to put it right.

As I said I love it and there are touches like the lights being a yellow colour and not xenon white that I like, with the Clark TK22 board it sounds great. But I'm thinking of putting a S-bus board in purely for me they are easier to use and I know what I'm doing. I hate the have stick actions as when I'm using the MG the front light goes on or off, if that is on switch as in S-bus then its easier. But that's something else.

I have a 1:35 Tamiya to make I guess I can compare the 2 once that is made. But they might be both wrong!

in a few months I'm seriously considering getting another full metal Mato (from Dave @Forgebear , I try NOT to buy from anywhere else as their service is second to NONE) as the whole thing is great(what tank not sure yet) .

Everyone is allowed an opinion

Personally, if a tank looks pleasing to the eye and I'm happy with it, that's all that matters to me.
I'm no rivet counter, but I admire the work some people do to achieve perfection, I doubt I'll go to that level of detail myself. But just enough to please my eye

Just remember that opinions are like buttholes - Everybody's got one, and most of 'em stink! :haha: :haha: @) @)

As for my own worthless opinion, I think that M-10 looks just great and I'm glad you're pleased with it. I wouldn't worry about the smoker, as most of the real tanks wouldn't have shown much smoke at all, and once you scale it down to our size and throw in the diffuser it really doesn't need smoke at all.

And don't worry about not being the world's greatest modeller, that's not what it's about. It's about you having fun and being happy with your tanks. That's really the only thing that counts, and it sounds like you're enjoying all your tanks so don't sweat it.

And yes, Dave does have an excellent and well deserved reputation for being a great vendor. If only he sold 3D SLA printers!! >:< >:<
