Anyone use Asiatam gearboxes?

I was thinking how to instal it if they have screw from downstairs to remove it from this metal plate

I fitted Taigen4:1 gearboxes in my HengLong Panzer 3, which did the job nicely. Steel gears for durability and the lower ratio is much more driveable and realistic in terms of scale speed.

Quite a few tanks seem to come as stock with much to fast a speed which looks comical when running. Was the first mod I did.

I missed your question when you posted it. I had the misfortune to receive Asiatam gearboxes with my Cromwell kit from Chris Ludwig. I expect he included them with his otherwise superb kit because they had just the right dimensions for his design specs.. During the Cromwell build, I happened to drop one of the gearboxes on the carpet. Much to my astonishment , the frame..the strongest, and thickest part of the unit, actually bent: it simply curled over. This was the side carrying the gear bearings, and output shaft.
One light squeeze with a pair of pliers, and I managed to restore the basic shape. However, it struck me that a bit of polishing, and black paint, had disguised the fact that the support frame was made of a poor alloy. In fact, it almost felt as bendy as lead. I'd hate to be a mountaineer using carabiners made out of this stuff
Maybe I was unlucky, but I don't think my gearboxes are likely to be unique. They were Taigen lookalikes; but the problem is, that China makes all the genuine items these days- as well as most of the low quality copies, and fakes.
My advice: buy Taigen gears from a trusted source.
