Has HL / Torro fixed the Tiger turret ring location yet?
I remember that older iterations of HL / Torro Tigers had the turret ring in the wrong place, too far forward compared to the turret itself, meaning that rotating the turret just looked wrong. Have they fixed that in more recent versions?

They have not even got round to fixing the duplicated spare aerial holders leave alone major surgery on the location of the Turret

I think I am about to upset someone

Shame. That alone is enough reason for me not to get one. How about the Taigen? Do they have correct turret ring location, or do I need to look at Tamiya for that?

If you want an accurate 1/16 R/C tank you have little choice,
You have to go to Tamiya or be prepared to do the research and do your own fix on the Heng Long/Taigen/Torro tank that you have,
Trust me if you are looking for faults in the three makers I have listed the Turret location is the least of your troubles,
PZ4 Suspension WRONG! PZ4 Engine Bay WRONG! PZ4 Aerial Deflector WRONG! PZ4 Rear idler location WRONG! PZ4 Front Sprocket WRONG!PZ4 Front Fenders WRONG! PZ4 Turret Box WRONG! (Except for the very latest Taigen Turret.).
The list is endless.
And don't get me started on the Tiger 1.

Good evening,
A Tamiya upper and\or a little deck surgery on a Taigen or Henglong tank will produce a fine Tiger that you can detail out to your hearts content. Expect to do some modeling even with a stock Tamiya tank.

Is there a chance that Trumpeter might have a more accurate upper hull, Shaun and Lert? At least they've managed to get the bevels on the top of the front armour plate right, as have Tamiya. Taigen/HL have a straight edge there, and it's completely wrong. I think 'Hobby/Boss' also get that detail right. Maybe they get some of the others right too..jarndice wrote:If you want an accurate 1/16 R/C tank you have little choice,

This anomaly is one of my bugbears; but otherwise I'm pretty happy with my two Taigen Tigers...

Re: Has HL / Torro fixed the Tiger turret ring location yet?
The straight bevels are easily fixed with some careful sanding. The duplicate aerial is easily cut away. The turret ring location requires surgery that I don't want to bother with, so I guess I'm out of luck.

The hobbyboss/wsn/trumpeter one is a good base to work with
Re: Has HL / Torro fixed the Tiger turret ring location yet?
That's good to know. If the Tiger bug starts biting me I can look into either getting a HL base and using a hobby boss / WSN / trumpeter upper and turret, or getting one of those complete and RC'ing them.tomhugill wrote:The hobbyboss/wsn/trumpeter one is a good base to work with
