Vendors Blacklist
Vendors Blacklist
Whilst the vast majority of aftermarket vendors who cater for our hobby provide both excellent service and value, it seems there are one or two out there who think they can take us for a ride!
One in particular who trades under the name of Tankworkshop seems to be giving Raven & Grim_marmazet a really hard time.
It's the same old story, advertising goods they don't have, ignoring emails etc. I for one will never consider purchasing anything from him/her and hope the rest of our members follow suit.

Re: Vendors Blacklist
in the modeling world this is normal practice for some of the bigger company's they advertise goods which are out of stock but still take your money then send the goods once they are restocked.....................oz
Re: Vendors Blacklist
Tankzone did this to me, the thing that made matters worse is the fact they were still advertising the items as avaliable. Some of the stuff took over a month to arrive and I could have bought it from other vendors.
Lesson learned, never again.

Re: Vendors Blacklist
I bought my stuff from Tankzone, and they sent one of my items with a note saying the other 2 will be "sent when possible". No phone call or email. I emailed them and had no reply. I've also never had a reply from them when asking if they have any stock of an item.
I also find it a bit weird they give you no email record of what you ordered, and the only telephone number they have is a mobile.
Cheers,
Rik

Re: Vendors Blacklist
Yup, I won't deal with that guy any more. He is notorious for advertising goods on Ebay (which you are only allowed to do when they are in stock for immediate delivery) and then ordering it in when he knows he has sold it. It is actually a great way to run a business as you never have unsold stock, but from a customer perspective it is dire, he sometimes takes weeks to get the stock in, and you thought you were going to get it in 2 days?
There are plenty of reputable, helpful, friendly dealers about, and they are the ones that we should support. The only problem is that Tankzone are distributors for a lot of what the other dealers sell, so their hands are tied too, however, they may have stock that is available for immediate delivery. It's always worth asking before you order. Tankzone are also charging top dollar prices, and you can usually source identical goodies elsewhere for a lot less. If you are ordering one part from them, then it looks good value as they include free postage, but if you order 10 parts your 'free' postage is charged on every part..and that makes a huge difference in the price of large orders.

Re: Vendors Blacklist
Its quite funny he says on his site;
"We strongly recommend that you email us if at all possible. We usually answer all email we receive during the day straight away or latest the next day."
This is amazing since i've never had a reply to any email ive sent him, even ones that might have made him a sale. I suppose its a lot easier to ignore an email than a phone call.
Cheers,
Rik
